Sales Representative

Shipyard Supply Co was established in 2018 and offers a range of high quality, no compromise deck products, designed and manufactured in the UK. We offer our clients products with a superior finish that will stand up to the rigours of daily use on board. From bespoke transom fenders and games decks to manufacturing our own tender whips, we are keen to take on any deck enquiry!

We pride ourselves on giving our clients professional and quality service and advice with a smooth sales process all the way through, from initial enquiry to completion of the project. The relationships we have with both our suppliers and clients is of upmost importance, as is the need to fit in and work closely with our team.

At Shipyard Supply Co, we are a tightly knit team with a huge passion for our products and are looking for someone with superyacht industry knowledge and/or experience to join us in this incredibly exciting client-facing role as a Sales Representative.

Job description

This is an exciting offer of a full-time, permanent position as a Sales Representative. The position is Monday-Friday 9am-5pm with a one hour’s lunch break. We are looking for someone with marine industry experience and technical knowledge (preferred) with excellent sales skills who can offer advice and sell products that meet and exceed our client’s requirements.

The applicant must have a willingness to learn, an excitement for our products and services, and is educated to A-Levels/college level as a minimum. The role will include writing marketing campaigns and emails so the ideal candidate would have good writing and grammar skills and the ability to use sales jargon.

Day-to-day duties and responsibilities include:

  • Managing and creating professional and friendly relationships with both clients and suppliers
  • Researching and finding new products and suppliers
  • Sourcing new business and creating new opportunities to maximise our profits
  • Creating sales campaigns
  • Occasional packing of products in our on-site warehouse

The role will include some travel, both within the UK and across the globe (mostly Europe) to visit clients and suppliers, attend trade shows and to put Shipyard Supply Co out there in the Superyacht world (when it’s allowed and is safe to do so)!

We are a small hands-on team and love to help each other out when we can, so the role is very varied and will require other duties. This is an incredibly exciting time to join the company as we are growing and expanding rapidly.
